Humans-are-curious-creatures. Here is the answer to our most troubling question.

Hhhhmmmm… and I thought the meaning of life was 42…
WWTTTFFF IS THAT? I saw it everywhere when I looked for images? What is this 42 rubbish? I’m out of the loop!
Hitch hiker’s guide to the galaxy…
Yep myspokenheart is correct. Type in “the answer to life the universe and everything” in google search, it proves it.
Bah! That’s on my to read list. Must. Order. Copy.
It’s weird… but you’re into weird… cuz ‘humans are weird’… and you are human… so you may very well like it…
The meaning of life may have been 42, but the question was never found…
The meaning of life is irrelevant, if we search continually for meaning we will never find it, live each day as if it were your last and do the most you can. Our purpose is to be.
I really do want to read hitchhikers! And yes, I agree. There’s a cool painting by blake (that you’ve probably seen) of newton doing maths on the ground, while the rock he’s sitting on is full of the life he’s looking for. I’m writing a post on it tomorrow.
LOL. I wonder when this question first arose in language for humans and why it arose at all.
And yes, the correct answer is 42.
I like this 42 business.
I heard a minister at a Unitarian church read from a dictionary definition (among other scriptural writings from different traditions) during a sermon once. He explained that Oxford English dictionary was important to consult as “modern scripture,” because it’s an argument-killing authoritative text written by a bunch of people that we never seem to question. Semantics, yo. Thought it was interesting.
I’d be lying if I said that I understood what the minister meant? Haha, I didn’t mean that to sound funny, but I realised that it kinda does. Really though, I don’t get it? Is it cause we don’t question the meaning of words? Sorry.
I was going to give you the answer of 42 as well … but I see that others have beaten me to it.
Douglas Adams had some interesting philosophies that are right up your alley Humans are Weird
I really do need to get onto them, hey?
nah … just more proof I read way too much.
looks like i was beat to the correct answer…. just knowing the meaning of life is “42″ has completely simplified my entire outlook. i stress over nothing. nothing.
Life has the meaning we give to it
I clicked on this post half-excited and half-exhausted. I have been reading various ‘meaning of life posts’ for a while now, trying to sift through the good, the bad, and the ugly. This was a refreshing good, if only because it cut straight to the point (and I realize the point was not in the definition).
Refreshing blog. Taking serious things not so seriously. I could certainly learn from that balance!
Thanks. I like to be refreshing. Or rather, to be refreshed. Maybe both? I dunno. Either way, glad it – the post – didn’t add further to your exhaustion. Kudos to me. I mean, kudos to the oxforddictionary.com. Huzzah!
